Requirements

  • Bachelors' degree in Engineering or closely related field required
  • 2+ years Engineering experience in an assembly manufacturing environment, including blueprint reading and using various measuring equipment preferred
  • Must be computer -savvy and proficient experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Skilled in investigation of root causes and driving implementation of corrective and preventive actions for customer complaints and internal issues.
  • Experience using common problem-solving tools, preferably 9 Step, 8D, A3
  • Ability to organize tasks and manage time to complete multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within business and with suppliers, etc.

  • Quality Engineering certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Exemplify the Trane core values on a day-to-day basis.
  • Support operations when quality issues arise to maintain production
  • Partner with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering to investigate root causes and drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions for customer complaints and internal issues.
  • Leverage common problem-solving tools (9 Step, 8D, A3)
  • Apply measuring, sampling methods, testing methodology and other procedures that ensure that quality standards are met.
  • Identify and drives cost savings and/or efficiency projects to reduce waste and increase productivity.
  • Manage quality programs including Quality at the Source (QAS), Braze Excellence, Wiring Excellence, and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), including strategic A3, audits, training, and process improvements
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Vendors to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and execute inspection plans, test procedures, and validation strategies for electrical and mechanical parts and assemblies
  • Ownership, monitoring, support, and coordination of corrective actions, and deviations.
  • Take a leading role in defect analysis and continuous improvement efforts with a goal of zero defects.
  • Support new product development (NPD) by participating in design reviews, DFMEA, PFMEA, and reliability evaluations
  • Analyze first pass yield failure data, defect trends, and test results to identify improvement opportunities
  • Create and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, specifications, work instructions, and inspection criteria.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure adherence to Trane Technologies quality management system
  • Champion continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and statistical tools
