About The Position

Kamatics is seeking a Quality Engineer responsible for supporting manufacturing and quality initiatives through process monitoring, root cause investigation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities. This role will define methods, equipment, and gauging necessary to measure key process parameters and customer requirements while utilizing statistical tools and data analysis techniques to improve quality, reduce variation, and minimize waste. The Quality Engineer will work cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to investigate non-conformances, implement corrective actions, and improve overall process effectiveness. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing quality or engineering environment
  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, SPC, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality reporting/documentation tools

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a job shop or precision manufacturing environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of CNC machining, multi-axis machines, grinders, lathes, milling machines, and related manufacturing equipment preferred
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, and inspection methodologies preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead root cause investigations related to internal and external non-conformances utilizing methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, DOE, and similar problem-solving tools
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to identify root causes, develop corrective actions, and implement preventive measures
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineers and Operations teams to develop and implement effective corrective actions and mistake-proofing solutions
  • Utilize statistical tools such as SPC and data analysis techniques to monitor process capability, variation, scrap, and rework trends
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement to reduce waste, improve quality, and prevent escapes
  • Define and maintain methods, gauging, and inspection processes required to monitor key process parameters and customer requirements
  • Update work instructions and provide training to operators and inspectors on process requirements and quality expectations
  • Perform routine audits and monitor process compliance to ensure standards and requirements are consistently met
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives including Lean manufacturing and 5S activities
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate findings, trends, and recommendations effectively through verbal, written, and electronic communication
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all safety and environmental procedures
  • Provide a high level of service and support to internal and external customers
  • Perform other duties and cross-functional support activities as assigned
