About The Position

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for leading root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities, analyzing trends in quality data, developing and maintaining quality documentation, supporting ISO 9001/QMS compliance, partnering with production teams to improve processes, supporting supplier quality performance, training employees on quality requirements, and tracking quality performance metrics. This role requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 3-4 years of experience, including experience with ISO 9001:2015, root cause corrective action, gage R&R, and SPC. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is also required. The position involves complex problem-solving with little guidance, encourages creativity, and allows for autonomy in how work is done. The role has a considerable impact on department objectives and does not have supervisory responsibilities. The work environment may involve occasional exposure to stress, frequent workload fluctuations, and occasional requirements to work nights, holidays, or weekends. Physical demands include occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, feeling, grasping, and frequent pushing, pulling, and lifting of over 50 lbs. Environmental conditions include frequent exposure to inside and outside conditions, and occasional exposure to extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, and atmospheric conditions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related area of study.
• 3-4 years of experience.
• Experience in ISO 9001:2015.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience in root cause corrective action.
• Experience with gage R&R and SPC.

Responsibilities

• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities using structured problem-solving tools such as 5 Why, fishbone analysis, 8D, and Pareto analysis.
• Analyze trends in scrap, rework, defects, customer complaints, supplier issues, and internal non-conformances.
• Develop and maintain control plans, inspection criteria, process standards, and quality documentation.
• Support ISO 9001/QMS compliance through internal audits, process reviews, document control support, and audit preparation.
• Partner with production teams to improve process capability, reduce variation, and prevent repeat defects through processes such as gage R&R.
• Support supplier quality performance through issue resolution, corrective action follow-up, incoming inspection improvements, and supplier scorecards.
• Train employees on quality requirements, inspection expectations, nonconformance handling, and process controls.
• Track quality performance metrics and provide management with actionable reporting.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
