The initial role will focus on moving orders from a quality perspective, requiring the ability to obtain Delegated Quality Representative (DQR) status. This involves addressing quality documentation issues, approving First Article Inspections (FAI), and releasing orders for shipment. Short training will be provided for this aspect of the role.

Requirements

  • BSME or equivalent technical degree
  • 5+ total years relevant experience in Quality / Manufacturing / Industrial / Supply Chain Engineering
  • 3+ years within the Aerospace & Defense Industry preferred.
  • Product Life Cycle experience with complex mechanical components/assemblies/products - aero/marine/industrial gas turbine preferred.
  • Ability to establish/interpret/review quality requirements.
  • Perform work to industry standards and regulatory agencies such as: AS9100-D, AS13100, AS9145, AS9110, AS6081, ISO 9001-2015, FAA/FARs, DCMA/DoD
  • Capable of reading technical drawings utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and containing quality requirements
  • Familiarity with modern high tech manufacturing processes (metal, composites, coatings)
  • Proper gage selection/use, gage calibration, Repeatability & Reproducibility (R&R) studies
  • Knowledge of / Experience conducting Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) / Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) elements; First Article Inspection (FAI)
  • Supporting activities tied to Supplier selection, New Product Introduction (NPI) launches, Transitions, Supplier Auditing, Training/Development initiatives.
  • Working with / Evaluating non-conforming material, product recall, Material Review Board (MRB), Root Cause Corrective Action (RC-CA)
  • Presenting technical data/results to customer and regulatory representatives
  • Advanced MS Office tools (Excel – pivot, charts, lookups, macros; PowerPoint - tech presentations, training; Word – procedural writing).
  • Data reporting tools (Power BI, Qlik, etc)
  • Interacting with electronic Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) / Software / Work Instructions (SW / WI) systems (input/mining/extracting/analyzing)
  • Using statistical based tools, analysis, and metrics (Minitab, etc)
  • Customer relationship building skills
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing, investigating, analyzing, verifying, assuring, and sustaining part/process quality (OEM, Supplier, MRO) using industry-recognized quality tools.
  • Moving orders from a quality perspective, including addressing received quality documentation issues, approving First Article Inspections (FAI), and releasing orders ready to ship.
  • Soliciting process data and using formal systematic Root Cause Corrective Action (RC-CA) tools to support product and/or process improvement projects aimed at reducing Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
  • Executing work in Quality Management System (QMS), Part & Process Qualification / Verification, Non-Conforming Material, and Continuous Improvement / Development functions.
  • Engaging with customers, customer suppliers, and other stakeholders in a competent, technical, and professional manner.
  • Helping the company grow its services and market share.
