The Quality Engineer is responsible for reviewing, creating, and approving Process Routers before they are released to production. This role ensures all customer and design authority specification requirements are met. The engineer acts as a liaison between the Estimating and Quality departments to ensure paperwork compliance and accurate quality testing pricing. They also communicate with production to verify the viability of Process Routers and implement necessary changes. This position involves submittal of Technical Plans to major customers, creating repair procedures for non-conforming products, and assisting in resolving customer technical issues. The engineer will support the Quality Engineering Supervisor and/or Manager on special projects and customer-related quality matters, and assist in internal audits. Responsibilities include maintaining matrices and statistics on process router development, developing new approaches to quality assurance problems, and maintaining a mastery of quality assurance standards and specifications. The role also involves analyzing periodic testing data, including trend analysis, and operating testing equipment such as XRF, Hardness Machines, Metallographic, CMM, gages, and salt spray & humidity equipment. Training of inspection/testing personnel may also be required.
