Position Summary: Responsible for continuous improvement of the site’s quality management system. Works cooperatively with other departments (Value Stream, Engineering, Inside Sales, Supply Chain) to ensure that non-conformances are investigated to their true root cause, and corrective action has been implemented and proven effective at eliminating the source of the non-conformance. Designs, installs and evaluates quality assurance processes, procedures, and statistical techniques. Leads quality improvement initiatives as per IATF 16949-2016 to achieve set sigma level for the value stream. www.craneco.com Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to): Supports the Value Streams and their supporting departments in the investigation and resolution of product defects, audit findings, and other types of nonconformances. Support functions include: Providing support during daily KPI board meetings Leading the Material Review Board in evaluation and disposition of defects. Driving the completion of ‘5-Why’ investigations in response to nonconformances. Evaluating and providing feedback on proposed root cause and corrective actions. Evaluating the effectiveness of corrective/preventive action implementation, to ensure no repeat occurrences. Maintains assigned elements of the site’s Quality Management System, including: Internal / external / 3rd party audits Low-Cost Country vendor inspection program Corrective Action / Preventive Action program Site Training Matrix Customer inspection activities Standard quality policies and procedures Promotes and supports the implementation of Process Control activities as per IATF 16949 2016 within the manufacturing environment, including: Process flow mapping Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis Control plans creation / update Process capability studies Gage R&R studies Statistical Process Control Actively participates in Crane Business System activities Kaizen and JDI events, including project team involvement, problem solving, and recommending solutions to enhance and improve the quality of departmental and/or company-wide business activities Performs other work as assigned.
