About The Position

Corvid Technologies' fuzing and safety technology group is seeking experienced Quality Engineers to support the design and development engineering team. This hands-on position will support the new and on-going product lines related to fuzing and safety products along with other innovative technologies and products involving mechanical, electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies at our Cincinnati, OH and Mooresville, NC locations. The ideal candidate will have experience in the defense industry, specifically interpreting contract and quality requirements flowed down from government and prime contractors. Our Quality Engineers will be an integral part of the product lifecycle, responsible for reviewing customer and industry requirements and ensuring those are integrated into the design and planning stages prior to and during production. This would also include design for manufacturability and assembly reviews as well as gage design and inspection planning. This is the perfect opportunity for a quality engineer that is capable of the entire scope of quality requirements to operate on a smaller team to influence a rapidly growing business by bringing quality onboard early in the development process.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related STEM discipline) and at least 3 years of relevant work experience is required
  • Understanding of quality systems to AS9100
  • Experience and knowledge of GD&T to ASME Y14.5
  • Understanding of soldering requirements to J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610

Nice To Haves

  • Quality experience in aerospace and defense industry, particularly with defense electronics and/or electro-mechanical assembly (low and/or high-volume production)
  • Quality experience with a full range of product lifecycles, from design to production
  • advanced degrees are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of Corvid's products meeting customer requirements from inception to completion of a contract
  • Review and articulate customer requirements for inputs on proposals, assessing scope of the effort, and communicating requirements to all stakeholders - with a focus on promoting compliance
  • Implementing inspection and validation points during the production process to satisfy customer requirements
  • Selecting inspection methods, creating custom inspection gages/equipment if necessary, and leading procurement activities for inspection equipment
  • Interfacing with suppliers, performing supplier audits, and onboard new suppliers when needed
  • Creating and reviewing First Article Inspections to AS9102
  • Supporting testing programs and assisting in generating test reports
