About The Position

The Quality Engineer is responsible for technical ownership of product and process quality, including process capability, risk management, and supplier quality performance. This role provides engineering-level analysis and leadership to ensure products and processes are robust, capable, and compliant with customer and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related discipline) required
  • 3–7+ years of experience in a manufacturing or quality engineering role
  • Working knowledge of QMS standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, or API Q1)
  • Strong experience with core quality tools (SPC, MSA, PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP/APQP)
  • Experience supporting root cause investigations and technical problem solving
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
  • Experience analyzing process capability and quality performance data
  • Knowledge of ASME, ANSI, ASTM standards
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Teams
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • ASQ Certification (CQE, CSSGB, or equivalent)
  • Experience with statistical analysis methods
  • Experience working with aerospace & defense industries
  • Experience with ERP or MES systems
  • Experience utilizing AI-enabled tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot or similar technologies) to support data analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in root cause investigations, including failure analysis and evaluation of complex quality issues
  • Support and contribute technical analysis to corrective and preventive actions driven through the QMS
  • Analyze process, product, supplier, and audit data to identify variation, risk, and opportunities for improvement
  • Lead development, implementation, and maintenance of Process FMEAs, Control Plans, and risk mitigation activities
  • Establish and maintain process capability requirements, including SPC, capability studies, and gage R&R
  • Define and improve inspection strategies, methods, and acceptance criteria based on risk and performance data
  • Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), including First Article Inspection (FAI) and PPAP where applicable
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and process robustness
  • Evaluate and improve supplier quality performance through technical review, analysis, and supplier audits
  • Perform supplier and process audits with focus on process capability, technical compliance, and risk
  • Support new product introduction activities to ensure quality standards are defined, implemented, and achieved
  • Work cross-functionally to resolve customer complaints, supplier issues, and internal nonconformances from a technical perspective
  • Utilize NCR and CAR system outputs to identify systemic issues and drive technical improvements
  • Develop and maintain process capability and quality performance reporting
  • Recommend improvements to product design, manufacturing processes, and quality control methods
  • Immediately report safety and quality risks
  • Other duties as assigned
