About The Position

The Manufacturing Quality Engineer provides oversight and guidance in manufacturing operations. They coach manufacturing personnel on proper compliance and empower them to identify and escalate quality issues, to ensure quality products. Our Manufacturing Quality Engineers not only play a part in the design of our products, but also in ensuring that our process is as efficient as possible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or other Engineering discipline
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing projects using lean manufacturing and six sigma tools and techniques
  • Experience with Quality audit techniques, ISO 9001 and AQL Inspection Sampling
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing and solving complex problems
  • Sound engineering and leadership skills
  • Skilled in team building and demonstrated experience in effectively working with cross functional teams to get results
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects / assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to solve problems by identifying relevant facts and key issues rapidly
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in a hardware manufacturing environment preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support Server Build and System Test teams in quality issue investigation
  • Investigate and document causes of non-conformance issues in the Quality Incident Report Database and drive/implement corrective actions
  • Perform daily audits in Server Build area
  • Create quality and process alerts to drive corrective actions and train employees
  • Coordinate pilot build audits for new SKUs with New Product Introduction (NPI) Team and Manufacturing Engineering
  • External Calibration Management: responsible for scheduling calibration of equipment with vendors
  • Participate in new product design reviews through development stage; document key design changes to ensure successful manufacturing implementation
  • Participate in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) reviews for NPI SKUs.
  • Primary quality engineering owner for golden server sample build and BOM verification
  • Drive improvements in assembly process and product design to reduce workmanship errors
  • Participate in LEAN initiative, and engage Six Sigma tools for process improvements
  • Participate in Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) meetings with key stakeholders
  • Participate in the Internal Auditing Program and lead process audits.
  • Support the manufacturing and warehouse teams during customer audits.
  • Coordinate the ESD practices in the production floor to be in adherence with the ESD internal procedures and align with ANSI ESD20.20.
