About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Associate or Experienced Quality Engineer (Level B or C) to support our 787 team in North Charleston, South Carolina on 1st shift. This is an opportunity to be part of a passionate team dedicated to excellence in aerospace engineering. We are seeking highly motivated and technically oriented engineers who have experience working in a heavily regulated industry and possess an unwavering commitment to quality and compliance. As a Quality Engineer, you will dive deep into the intricacies of our engineering documentation, assessing and enhancing how we translate complex requirements into clear, actionable instructions for our production teammates. Your role will be both challenging and rewarding, as you will engage directly with the build process through on-the-floor observations, ensuring that quality is not just a goal but a culture. You will also be a part of our safety and quality transformation through the execution of our Comprehensive Safety and Quality Plan. We have positions available supporting our Final Assembly building and Mid Body building, focusing on interior system installations and production testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 1+ year of experience in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or another regulated industry
  • 1+ year of experience writing technical documentation
  • 1+ year of experience collecting, organizing and analyzing data, summarizing findings, and developing conclusions
  • 1+ year of experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) or other similar rigorous problem/analysis/resolution processes to engineering development and manufacturing/production efforts
  • 1+ year of experience managing projects with cross-functional stakeholders and teammates
  • Must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and and experience
  • Experience working in a Quality Engineering or other production engineering role
  • Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
  • Experience with analytics tools & software
  • Proactive and collaborative mindset with an emphasis on positive relationships
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience in system integration and applying engineering principles

Responsibilities

  • Analyze engineering documentation to determine process capability and conformance
  • Perform audits of critical safety statement of work for engineering, build plan, and conformance planning improvements
  • Review and improve current build plan for simplification and standardization
  • Recommend and execute corrective actions to address systemic non-conformances
  • Perform engineering change review and verification
  • Perform continuous improvement of Quality Engineering processes
