About The Position

Marathon Electric, now part of WEG Group, is seeking a Quality Engineer. This role is responsible for designing and executing control plans, conducting audits to ensure adherence to these plans, and managing containment and corrective actions for non-conformances. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a mechanical field or relevant area of study and/or equivalent related experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office including Excel and Outlook.
  • Previous participation in ISO certification and audit systems required.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset is a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical assembly and components is a plus.
  • Formal training in Continuous Improvement is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and executes the control plan.
  • Conducts audits to ensure that control plans are being followed.
  • Ensures containment and corrective action in the event of non-conformance.
  • Compiles data analysis, reports, and recommends quality audits and inspections improvements.
  • Designs the Quality Monitoring Control Plan, including Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R's), and gauge development.
  • Works with cross-functional team members and outside experts to coordinate data analysis for root cause and corrective action determination.
  • May coach and develop Inspector Technicians.
  • Coordinates report outs of data analysis on multiple projects and product lines, including customer line and field analysis, corrective action effectiveness, and overall internal quality metrics effectiveness.
  • Designs internal standards for Inspector Technicians.
  • Reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of quality planning for continuous improvement.
  • Evaluates root cause corrective action requirements and assigns appropriate internal personnel and external experts.
  • Facilitates training, corrective action process review, typically acts as the corrective action leader, and serves as the single point of contact to the customer for corrective action.
  • Ensures all customer quality requirements are integrated into the QMS and communicates gaps to management.
  • Provides an overview of customer quality requirements.
  • Manages customer PPAP submittals and supplier PPAP for new suppliers.
  • Provides shop floor support and quickly responds to quality questions for production.
  • Supports the Change Request process.
  • Provides technical support for purchased parts dimensional analysis on rejected materials.
  • Completes measurement preventive maintenance of critical equipment.
  • Designs specialty gaging for production.
  • Recommends measurement methods for mechanical gages.
