About The Position

The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting various Quality projects as directed by Quality Manager. The Quality Engineer will support the development, planning and monitoring of quality assurance activities to ensure continuous compliance of production activities and the Quality Management System.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
  • 3+ years in a quality role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Quality Systems (ISO, AS, NADCAP)
  • Experience with AS13100
  • Certified Internal Lead Auditor
  • Proficient in applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Ability to work from blue prints, specifications, written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to use a computer and knowledge of Office 365
  • Ability to write notes, instructions, and other written communication items.
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required. Physically medium duty work required.
  • Requires standing continuously and walking and sitting occasionally throughout the day, working from a computer.
  • Able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 25 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

  • Develop processes and procedures in support of manufacturing and quality goals and objectives.
  • Identify and implement improvements with manufacturing teams that reduce product cost, improve quality and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Implementing and supporting of IQ, OQ and PQ activities.
  • Create PFMEA for existing products.
  • Oversee APQP, Perform PPAP and submit customer FAIR’s
  • Drive supplier performance improvement through root cause analysis, corrective action and supplier performance reviews
  • Develops and implements data collection methods for those areas pertaining to the cost of quality. Reviews and analyzes COQ information and prepares recommendations for quality and productivity improvements and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Reviews manufacturing planning for quality requirements.
  • Review and approve Quality and Process Specifications, Process Instructions, etc.
  • Process, maintain and monitor quality performance (cost of quality, rejections, reworks, non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, preventive actions, etc.).
  • Interact with customers (external and internal) relating to processing of quality rejections, reworks, non-conformance, corrective actions, etc.
  • Support inspection through review and approval of first article reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
