About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a highly motivated Experienced or Senior Quality Engineer to join our team in Berkeley, MO. The selected candidate will support development activities related to Mission System and Avionics at Boeing St. Louis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, mathematics, data science, physics, or chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA)
  • 3+ years of experience working with quality systems (e.g., Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001), Aerospace Standard (AS9100)
  • 3+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • More than 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certifications (CQA);(CQE); (CQT)
  • Certification in IPC and/or J-STD
  • Experience in an avionics, electrical, and/or systems engineering role (IEEE, AIAA, ASME, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Supports development activities and leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements related to Mission Systems and Avionics
  • Provides interpretation of complex requirements and assists design engineers with technical reviews including configuration change proposals, preliminary / critical design reviews, First Article Inspections, and Qualification testing
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities and Supplier Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs)
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances
  • Leads and participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs
  • Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
  • Initiate and implements corrective actions based on nonconformance trend analysis
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
