About The Position

The Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that products and processes meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. The quality engineer will supervise, and coordinate activities of workers engaged in inspection and testing through processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a quality engineer or similar role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management, both internal and external.
  • Basic knowledge of all types of tooling and gauges.
  • Should be capable of reading micrometers, telescoping gauges, calipers, comparator, indicators, etc.
  • Be able to operate manual equipment.
  • Good problem-solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality.
  • Computer skills.
  • Minimal amount of machining knowledge.
  • Basic Math skills.
  • GD&T knowledge.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Influencing skills to establish trust, credibility, and rapport at all levels of the organization; seen as humble, direct, and authentic while possessing professional presence.

Responsibilities

  • Works directly in Quality Assurance inspection and testing to ensure that establishment and regulatory standards are met.
  • Reviews inspection reports and confers with Quality Assurance work-related, management, and engineering personnel when necessary to solve work related problems.
  • Records inspection results by completing reports, summarizing reworks and wastes and inputting data into quality database.
  • Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence.
  • Monitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and discard any that does not meet requirements.
  • Reviews daily hold list.
  • Daily reports to Quality Management of all quality nonconformance.
  • Auditing systems based on ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 requirements.
  • Determining quality metrics for all manufacturing procedures.
  • Set detailed guidelines on what needs to be checked and what the quality standards are.
  • Determine quality metrics for all manufacturing procedures.
  • Identify the root cause for nonconforming issues and recommend fixes.
  • Prepare reports and corrective actions (e.g. number of defective raw materials per order).
  • Review current blueprints and quality documentation.
  • Set and track quality assurance goals.
  • Coordinate with external quality assurance auditors and technicians to ensure legal compliance.
  • Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products.
  • Perform layered, internal, and external audits.
  • Coordination and performance of internal process/product audits
  • Performance process capability studies.
