About The Position

The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving product and process quality in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role partners with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to prevent defects, drive root-cause corrective actions, and ensure compliance with internal quality systems and applicable standards. The position uses data-driven problem solving and continuous improvement methods to reduce scrap/rework, improve yields, and strengthen supplier and customer quality performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • 2+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated strength in problem solving, root cause analysis, and process validation methodologies.
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to translate findings into clear actions.
  • Results oriented, organized, and able to execute against timelines while managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively on the production floor with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) and demonstrated success leading yield/scrap reduction projects.
  • Experience with PPAP, PFMEA facilitation, and process validation/qualification.
  • Proficiency with data analysis/visualization tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, Power BI) and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing quality plans, control plans, inspection/verification methods, and reaction plans for key processes.
  • Lead structured problem solving for internal nonconformances, customer complaints, and supplier issues; verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Analyze process performance using SPC and capability studies (Cp/Cpk, Pp/Ppk); establish and monitor control limits, trends, and key quality metrics.
  • Support new product and process introductions by defining critical-to-quality requirements, PFMEA updates, inspection criteria, and validation/qualification activities.
  • Create and execute internal audits and participate in external/customer audits; ensure timely closure of findings.
  • Own nonconforming material processes (MRB disposition, containment, quarantine) and partner with production to minimize disruption while protecting the customer.
  • Monitor key quality metrics to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce scrap, rework, and variation using Lean/Six Sigma tools; communicate progress and results to stakeholders.
  • Support measurement systems by defining gage requirements, performing MSA (gage R&R), and coordinating calibration and verification activities.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to drive supplier corrective actions and support supplier quality improvement efforts.
