About The Position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the JASSM/LRASM program in Troy, AL. This position provides quality engineering support in a manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for ensuring quality is built into the product by developing, modifying, applying, and maintaining work instructions, evaluation and control, and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished product. It involves collaborating with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place, devising and implementing methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment, and designing and analyzing inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment. The role also includes performing statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications, auditing quality for deficiency identification and correction, and ensuring that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant. The position may specialize in areas such as design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, and research and development as they apply to product or process quality. The Quality Engineer will interface with Production, Program Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering personnel, investigate and work non-conformance issues through to root cause/corrective action, and seek continuous improvement through involvement in product, process, and surveillance audit/assessment activities, completing Hardware Quality Audits (HQAs) and Foreign Object Elimination (FOE) Walk Downs, and working audit findings to root cause and implement corrective and preventive measures.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters in a STEM discipline from an accredited college.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • This position will require a government security clearance.
  • This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
  • Candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”) background check to obtain approval to be an “employee possessor” (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations.
  • Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years of quality experience
  • Lean Six Sigma / Green Belt or higher certification.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
  • Quality discipline internship or DoD Industry internship
  • Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
