About The Position

Dynacraft is seeking a talented Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team at our Louisville facility. The Quality Engineer reports to the Quality Manager and will function as the primary plant resource to ensure that APQP is followed for product Launches and all Dynacraft and PACCAR standards are maintained. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring our products and processes meet the highest quality standards and meet customer expectations. You will have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, engage with customers, and lead initiatives that drive quality improvements in the manufacturing process. This role is an exciting opportunity for internal candidates looking to expand their professional horizons while contributing to the quality and excellence of our products. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, is proactive, and has experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of three years in automotive electrical experience at an OEM or Tier One supplier, a focus on or project involvement with high voltage cables, battery electric vehicles, and/or emissions systems is required.
  • Quality Management Systems : Familiarity with ISO standards (9000/9001/14000/14001, TS16949, or QS 9000) in a quality management capacity.
  • APQP Knowledge: Understanding of APQP methodologies and quality management tools, including FMEA, PF, and control plans.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting GD&T, engineering drawings, and specifications, with the ability to translate them into actionable requirements.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and Minitab or equivalent software.
  • Team Player: Demonstrated ability to facilitate team efforts, work collaboratively, and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 40 lbs. as needed.
  • Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical & Computer, or Battery/Energy Storage Engineering or related technical discipline

Responsibilities

  • Quality Liaison: Serve as the main customer contact for truck component quality issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality concerns and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Engineering Collaboration: Participate in design reviews to improve product quality.
  • Dimensional Inspection: Inspect PPAP sample components for specification compliance.
  • Training & Support: Provide technical training and support on PPAP, quality, and assembly requirements.
  • APQP Leadership: Lead foundational APQP documentation, including feasibility reviews and control plans.
  • PPAP Documentation: Maintain PPAP files per PACCAR guidelines.
  • Statistical Process Control: Lead SPC initiatives and capability studies to improve quality.
  • Analytical Support: Assist Dynacraft process owners in resolving quality issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive improvement initiatives based on feedback.
