About The Position

Leidos’ Defense Systems Platform Integration Facility is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team. The candidate should have knowledge of manufacturing practices as well as knowledge of handling customer activities. The Quality Engineer will be required to interact with all levels of management in all departments and the customer. These activities will include but are not limited to: Assembly operations / controls, testing, non-conformances, root cause investigation, and 3rd party audits. Applicant must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 4-8 years of experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 system or equivalent experience in DOD, Aerospace, or Automotive manufacturing quality control.
Experience working with non-conforming material, performing failure analysis, identifying root-cause and implementing corrective action.
Experience writing work instructions, procedures, and implementing QMS documentation.
Ability to review and interpret contract quality clauses and technical data and develop and document appropriate quality verification procedures, plans, and work instructions, including AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation.
Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
Capability of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
Experience with complex aerospace hardware.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the manufacture and inspection of complex aerospace hardware, non-conforming material, Material Review Board (MRB), review/creation of Acceptance Data Packs / First Article Inspection
Electrical and mechanical quality experience is beneficial.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

Coordinate inspection activities to support manufacturing with the completion of jobs.
Support customer visits/source inspections/first article inspections.
Write non-conformance and facilitate investigation into root cause.
