About The Position

The Quality Engineer will provide support in the areas of quality, continuous improvement, and customer service for the OKC business units. This role involves providing daily factory floor support on product and process quality, championing the disposition of incoming materials, and providing supplier development feedback. The engineer will analyze and develop corrective and preventative actions for customer product returns, complaints, and performance inquiries using techniques such as 8D, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), risk-based thinking, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). The position also includes providing technical oversight for first article inspections, creating incoming material inspection plans, and authoring/editing documents to ensure product and process quality. Investigations into manufacturing and supplier issues will be conducted to develop solutions that prevent re-occurrence. The role also supports quality improvements and cost savings through continuous improvement processes like Kaizen Events and Design for Excellence (DF(x)), develops Quality Plans for new and existing products, and creates inspection and product test procedures with visual aids. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will assist Design Engineering in identifying necessary revisions to drawings and prints, focusing on Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters, and support first article and incoming material inspectors on technical matters.

Requirements

  • BS Degree, Mechanical Engineering Preferred.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green or Black Belt considered a plus.
  • Technical awareness of Welding techniques and standards a plus.
  • Must possess a minimum of 3 years of Quality Eng. experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Microsoft Office Suite of tools (MS… Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio, etc. …)
  • Problem solving expertise. 8D, RCA, Fishbone, etc.…
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation skills.
  • Must have the ability to write procedures, work instructions, and visual aids.
  • Ability to interpret product and component drawing/blueprints.
  • Basic working knowledge of QA related instrumentation and gages.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily factory floor support on matters involving product and process quality.
  • Champion the disposition of incoming materials and provide supplier development feedback.
  • Analyze and develop Corrective and Preventative actions for Customer Product Returns, Complaints and Performance Inquiries using 8D based techniques, RCA, Risk based thinking, FEMA, etc.
  • Provide technical oversight for first article inspections and create incoming material inspection plans.
  • Author, Edit and Participate in reviews of document to assure the quality of products and processes.
  • Investigate manufacturing and supplier issues to develop solutions, which prevent re-occurrence using RCA, FMEA, etc.
  • Assist and promote quality improvements and cost savings, through continuous improvement processes such as Kiazen Events, DF(x), etc.
  • Develop Quality Plan’s for both new and existing products to ensure consistently high levels of out-going product quality.
  • Create inspection and product test procedures as well as visual aids.
  • Assist Design Engineering in identifying required revisions to drawings and prints, with emphasis on clear, Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters.
  • Support both first article and incoming material inspectors on technical matters.
