About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in Berkeley, MO. This role represents the Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation. The Quality Engineer provides quality interpretation of requirements, develops quality metrics, and designs and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company, and regulatory requirements. They conduct capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities, participate in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs, and perform analysis, tests, and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. Additionally, the role provides material review dispositions for non-conformances, conducts RCCA and CAPA activities, analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions, and recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances. The position also involves performing benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved and supports Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities. The role works under general direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 1+ years of experience working with Non-conformance (NCR) processes
  • 1+ years of experience reading engineering blueprints/drawings
  • 1+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods
  • 1+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)

Nice To Haves

  • More than 3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years of experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis, data collection, preparation and interpretation
  • Ability to work with a cross functional team environment including peers, leadership, and customers
  • Experience with AS9102 (FAI) First Article Inspection, AS9145, and AS6500
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
