About The Position

This role is for a Senior Quality Engineer on the Quality Engineering team, responsible for delivering world-class quality assurance support to the Missiles & Fire Control (MFC) circuit-card assembly line. The position involves driving end-to-end quality initiatives to ensure hardware production remains on schedule and compliant. The role requires effective communication with customers, program teams, and other functional departments, and may involve travel to support program needs.

Requirements

  • STEM Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in an with 5 years of professional experience, or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree, or equivalent combined education/experience.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications for development of quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for inspection and test of manufactured products (electronic assemblies).
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management and control processes.
  • Ability to focus on continual improvement practices using causal analysis tools to drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Must be able to pass visual acuity and color perception exam.
  • Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification or ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA).
  • Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical / process issues varying from basic to very complex.
  • Quality Engineering or Supplier Quality experience as well as experience with developing and reviewing Quality Standards, methods, work instructional and procedures for inspection.
  • Strong understanding in AS9100, ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and/or NQA-1/10CFR50 Appendix 50.
  • IPC 610/620 and/or J-STD-001 certification.
  • Experience with control and disposition of nonconforming material.
  • Project Management, Leadership and Delegation Abilities with strong problem solving skills, corrective action and causal analysis techniques.
  • Ability to focus on continual improvement practices using causal analysis tools to drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of critical design attributes and auditing/surveying capabilities.
  • Audit, Process Line Verification and/or Hardware Quality Assessment experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Chairing Material Review Boards and facilitating Corrective Action Boards.
  • Providing inspection and test support, and managing disposition of non-conforming material.
  • Preparing and executing First Article Inspections (FAIs), Process Line Verifications (PLVs) and Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs).
  • Effectively communicate with Customer, Program team and other functional departments.
  • Conducting Hardware Quality Assessments (HQAs) and Program Status Reviews (PSRs).
  • Supporting internal and external audits while driving continuous process improvements.
  • Multi-tasking, meeting deadlines and supporting engineering activities related to special process surveys and supplier issues.
  • Willingness/ability to travel to support program issues/needs as they arise.
