About The Position

The Quality Engineering team is seeking a Quality Engineer in Rockleigh, NJ. In this position, you will be part of a team of best-in-class quality engineers dedicated to validating Crestron's intelligent video camera systems. These include speaker-tracking cameras, face direction switching, AI-based framing, and advanced conferencing experiences integrated into Crestron's Unified Communications and AV platforms. As a QE, you will work closely with senior quality engineers, firmware and software developers, and product teams to execute test plans, report issues, and help ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. This role supports an active portfolio of intelligent video camera products across multiple hardware generations, with ongoing feature releases and new hardware launches in the roadmap. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about product quality, eager to grow, and ready to contribute meaningfully from day one in a fast-paced, hands-on engineering environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in QA, test, or hardware/software validation (internships and co-ops count)
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience with AV systems, video conferencing, embedded devices, or camera systems
  • Foundational understanding of software and hardware testing methodologies
  • Ability to follow test plans, execute test cases, and document results accurately
  • Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps) and structured issue reporting
  • Familiarity with standard AV interfaces such as USB, HDMI, and network-based control
  • Exposure to scripting or automation tools (Python, PowerShell) for test support
  • Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux environments
  • Strong attention to detail; curiosity in identifying inconsistencies in product behavior
  • Good written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Hands-on troubleshooting mindset with ability to capture and escalate debug data

Responsibilities

  • Execute manual test cases based on defined test plans for intelligent video camera systems across multiple product lines and hardware generations.
  • Verify system behavior across tracking, framing, face direction, speaker switching, and integration with Crestron conferencing platforms.
  • Log and track defects in bug tracking systems with clear, reproducible steps and supporting debug data.
  • Support regression, smoke, and exploratory testing for new firmware and software builds across ongoing and new product releases.
  • Assist in root cause investigations by capturing logs, test data, and reproduction scenarios in collaboration with firmware and software teams.
  • Maintain lab setups, including hardware, cables, firmware versions, and system configurations, to support ongoing test execution.
  • Contribute to test documentation, test result reports, and the team knowledge base.
  • Learn and adopt tools used for test management, defect tracking, and automation.
