About The Position

The Quality Engineer I is a self-motivated individual who works closely with customers and project management to solve quality issues, comply with customer requirements, and continuously improve products and services. Performs day-to-day activities from project/product conception to implementation, deployment and support. The position has significant interaction across all functional departments and geographical locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality or a related technical field or equivalent education/experience in Quality Engineering or Reliability Engineering
• 0-2 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in aerospace, defense or high-tech manufacturing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
• Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Nice To Haves

• Hands on experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 manufacturing processes such as machining, composites or special processes
• Knowledge of GD&T
• Internship or Co-Op experience in aerospace or defense industries

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 standards.
• Support Quality assurance activities across the product lifecycle from design through to production, testing and final deployment
• Participate in internal audits, supplier audits, and process inspections
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate nonconformances and support root cause analysis and corrective preventative actions (CAPA)
• Maintain and analyze quality data, generate reports and assist in identifying trends and areas for improvement.
• Support the development and review of documentation, including inspection plans, work instructions and quality records.
• Assist with first article inspections (FAI) and verification of compliance to customer and regulatory requirements
• Support continuous improvement initiatives using lean and six sigma principles.
