About The Position

This role serves as the first point of contact for customers and works independently or in a team environment on problem-solving activities, utilizing methodologies such as 5Why and 8D. The position involves developing, installing, and evaluating process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques, as well as developing or specifying inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment. The Quality Engineer analyzes production and service limitations and standards, recommends revisions to specifications, and formulates policies and procedures specific to the quality function. Availability for overtime is required to meet business needs. The role also includes travel to customers or suppliers, training others on department-specific concepts, tools, and testing equipment, quantifying quality costs, and preparing PPAPs, FMEAs, Control Plans, 5Ps, or 8Ds. The Quality Engineer interfaces with other engineering components, customers, and suppliers on quality-specific issues, performs quality audits, and provides daily reporting on internal activities, customer and plant issues, and customer-driven reports.

Requirements

  • Follows systematic problem-solving methodology: 5Why, 8D, and customer required forms etc.
  • Develops, installs and evaluates process sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques.
  • Develops or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment.
  • Analyzes production and service limitations and standards.
  • Recommends revision of specifications as needed.
  • Formulates or helps formulate policies and procedures specific to quality function.
  • Must be available and willing to work overtime per day or per week as determined necessary to meet business needs.
  • Travel to customers or suppliers.
  • Currently trained and conducts training on department specific concepts, tools and testing equipment.
  • Quantifies quality costs and develops P.O. when applicable.
  • Interfaces with all other engineering components within the company and with customers and suppliers on quality specific issues.
  • Prepare PPAP's, FMEA’s, Control plans, 5P’s or 8 D’s (Responsible during launch, mass production and service.)
  • Performs quality audits.
  • Daily reporting: internal activities: Quality Circle meeting, customer & plant issues, and customer driven reports.
