About The Position

The Quality Engineer I is responsible for managing the lifecycle of technical documentation and ERP master data while progressively taking on hands-on quality engineering responsibilities. This role serves as the gatekeeper for Document Control, ensuring flawless execution of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) across all business units, while also assisting in cross-departmental root cause investigations and quality inspections. This position is ideal for a recent engineering graduate looking to build a comprehensive foundation in holistic, organization-wide quality systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
  • 0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing, quality, or broader operational environment (relevant engineering internships or co-ops are highly valued).
  • Basic academic or practical understanding of quality methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel); prior exposure to ERP/MES software or complex data management tools is a plus, but a strong willingness to learn on the job is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, specifically regarding data entry and document accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex engineering changes into clear work instructions for any department.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional business environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the lifecycle of technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions for various business functions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and bill of materials (BOM) updates within the ERP/MES systems.
  • Assist senior quality staff, manufacturing engineers, and leaders from other departments (such as Supply Chain, R&D, and Customer Service) in conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for product, process, and systemic non-conformities across the business.
  • Support internal and external ISO 9001 audits across business units.
  • Conduct "Gemba-based" shadowing to audit processes company-wide (including production, logistics, and administrative functions) against written instructions, helping to ensure actual practices align with QMS documentation.
  • Assist with incoming, in-process, and final inspections of electro-mechanical assemblies, working collaboratively with supply chain, production, and engineering to verify compliance with specifications from supplier to customer.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and utilize tools like Microsoft Power Platform to support the digital transformation of quality processes, assisting the team in building "compliance by design" into daily workflows across the organization.
  • Under the guidance of the Quality Engineering Supervisor, work closely with various departments across the organization to help resolve daily quality issues, support new product launches, and promote quality standards in business processes.
