About The Position

Aerometals is looking to add a Quality Engineer I to their team. This role involves serving as the primary originator of Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) for production, identifying and evaluating potential nonconformances against applicable drawings, specifications, and work instructions. The engineer will document NCRs completely, ensure supporting objective evidence is included, and physically identify, tag, and segregate nonconforming hardware. Responsibilities also include cross-referencing travelers, routers, and inspection records, assembling documentation packages for Material Review Board (MRB) review, and supporting disposition decisions. The role requires maintaining the NC log and tracking system, performing in-process and final inspections, and participating in the AS9100 Quality Program. Other duties as required by the organization will also be part of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
  • Clear and precise technical writing for NCR documentation and quality records.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures without deviation.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
  • Effective communication with personnel.
  • 6 months in a manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary originator of Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) for production.
  • Identify and evaluate potential nonconformances against applicable drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine whether a formal NCR is warranted.
  • Document NCRs completely and ensure supporting objective evidence is included.
  • Physically identify, tag, and segregate nonconforming hardware to prevent unauthorized use or release of discrepant product.
  • Cross-reference travelers, routers, and inspection records to confirm the full scope of the nonconformance and identify additional affected hardware.
  • Assemble documentation packages for Material Review Board (MRB) review; support disposition decisions by senior quality personnel.
  • Maintain the NC log and tracking system to ensure accurate status of all open NCRs.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections per applicable drawings, specifications, and inspection plans; escalate out-of-tolerance findings as potential NCRs.
  • Participate in the AS9100 Quality Program.
  • Perform other duties as required by the organization.
