About The Position

Collaborate with quality assurance and quality control teams to develop processes, test procedures, and implement systems that ensure the products and processes fulfill quality standards, meet rules and regulations, and satisfy client expectations. As the Quality Engineer, you will be integral to the team for process and product improvements, root cause analysis and a primary responsibility to meet our customer expectations. You will be responsible for developing the operating instructions for our formulas and improvements to these. You will work with manufacturing site stakeholders to ensure the site meets its key performance indicators. In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive positive changes in operations that lead to operational excellence and reduced operational costs. You will teach, train, and mentor other members of the operations staff on quality management best practices. Additionally, you will be a quality ambassador for the manufacturing site, facilitating a culture that is conducive to ensuring final products are safe and meet customer expectations.

Requirements

  • Required experience in Food Industry
  • > 3 years experience in a variety of disciplines including quality, manufacturing, and/or cross functional teams
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Mathematical/Statistics Skills
  • Root cause analysis

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred
  • CQE
  • HACCP Certified
  • Prior experience in continuous improvement initiatives and Lean implementation a plus
  • SAP

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for formulation improvements.
  • Assist in complaint handling: Receiving complaints from customer service department, analyze process-oriented complaints, making decisions that could influence a process, coordinating the process of root cause analysis of the complaint with other disciplines, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to eliminate causes for complaints.
  • Implement and track operational key performance indicators (KPI) in relation to quality. Team member in driving excellence of other goals in the plant. Ensures all quality and safety practices are followed always. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Comply with local and government regulations, ISO standards and customer requirements by maintaining document management system, assessing the risk of site process, and updating local policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Internal Auditing: Work with site operations team to develop and execute risk-based audit plans to mitigate quality risk.
  • Foster and maintain good employee relations through all the appropriate methods of communications and positive employee relations practices.
