About The Position

This role is for a Quality Engineer Co-Op for the Fall 2026 semester at the Hamilton, Ohio manufacturing facility. The co-op student will gain hands-on experience supporting quality engineering activities in an automotive manufacturing setting, working collaboratively with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, and Supplier teams to enhance product quality, process performance, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or similar).
  • Strong academic performance with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with guidance from experienced engineers.
  • Demonstrated interest in automotive manufacturing, quality assurance, and process improvement.
  • Must be available to work full-time during the Fall 2026 Co-Op semester.

  • Previous internship, co-op, or project experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality control plans, work instructions, and quality procedures.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to internal, supplier, and customer quality issues using problem-solving methodologies such as 8D.
  • Support new product and process validation activities through testing, data collection, and analysis.
  • Collect, analyze, and report quality performance data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with supplier quality activities, including supplier performance monitoring, audits, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, and cross-functional teams to improve process capability and product quality.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on defect reduction, process optimization, and operational excellence.
  • Support the preparation of quality reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
  • Learn and apply automotive quality tools and methodologies, including FMEA, SPC, Control Plans, MSA, and 8D.
