Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Quality Director to be based in our Suisun City, CA office. This role is responsible for assuring that every aspect of the Company’s business process are suitably oriented toward and built around contemporary principles of total quality in every respect. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field + 10 years of related quality management experience in the construction industry, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Rail/Transit, Bridge, and/or water/wastewater treatment plant construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the management of the monitoring and evaluation process to ensure that Shimmick quality management systems are being followed and evidence is recorded and maintained.
  • Provides guidance to employees within the latitude of established policies.
  • Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization.
  • Ensures that the organization understands, embraces, and employs sound quality methodologies in all its work and that a set of metrics is developed and used to accurately, timely, and cost effectively measure and communicate quality performance.
  • Makes certain that suppliers and customers of the Company are fully aware of the significant feeling for high quality.
  • Directs activities related to quality control, including strategies, staffing, scheduling, coordinating, quality assurance standards, and planning.
  • Assists in the execution of regular audits of the acceptance, correctness, of understanding, and institutionalization of the entire Quality System by the organization in each plant.
  • Prepares and controls quality assurance and quality control annual budget.
  • Plans and establishes engineering schedules and follow up performance against estimates.
  • Counsels with Plant Managers and/or Vice President, and General Managers in the annual function of goal setting, and helps to ensure the professional development planning of the quality professionals in the Company.
