About The Position

SBA Home North Carolina is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Controller to ensure that products meet established quality standards and customer specifications. This role is responsible for inspecting materials and finished goods, identifying defects, documenting findings, and supporting the production team to maintain high levels of quality and compliance during second shift operations (2-10pm). SBA Group is a furniture manufacturer from the EU, and this facility, starting operations in 2025, will be their first production facility in the USA, employing over 250 professionals in a highly robotic and automated factory.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read measuring tools and interpret specifications.
  • Basic understanding of quality inspection methods.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, ERP systems preferred).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in furniture, wood products, or similar industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform visual and measurement-based inspections using standard tools and equipment.
  • Identify, document, and report defects or non-conformities.
  • Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Track and report scrap, rework, and defect trends.
  • Communicate quality concerns to Production and Quality Supervisors.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to approved procedures and specifications.
  • Verify corrective actions are properly implemented.
  • Support root cause analysis for recurring quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines.
  • Support internal audits and quality system compliance efforts.
  • Work closely with production teams to resolve quality concerns in real time.
  • Assist with training operators on quality standards and inspection criteria.
  • Communicate shift-specific quality issues to incoming/outgoing shifts.
