About The Position

This position supports El Paso’s Quality Control Laboratory by performing microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process product, finished products, and stability samples to meet QC laboratory deliverables. The role also supports environmental monitoring, laboratory trending, equipment validation and maintenance, investigations, documentation, and audit readiness. Work is performed under the direction of the lab supervisor and/or Quality Manager or designee.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Biology or microbiology.
• 1–3 years of applicable work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process product, finished products, and stability samples according to applicable procedures.
• Collect environmental samples and perform analysis according to applicable site procedures.
• Maintain laboratory trending data.
• Assist with project protocols, change notifications, deviation waivers, and Quality Notifications under supervision.
• Perform equipment validations and verifications with minimal supervision.
• Execute test method validations as required.
• Perform assigned projects and tasks.
• Compile testing data and review testing results.
• Maintain the Microbiology Laboratory.
• Order supplies, reagents, and materials as needed.
• Support equipment maintenance and calibration activities.
• Follow laboratory safety and hazardous waste management practices.
• Clean and maintain laboratory areas and equipment according to procedures.
• Support investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
• Maintain laboratory logbooks and records according to Good Documentation Practices.
• Perform Microbiology Lab activities assigned by the lab supervisor and/or Quality Manager or designee to achieve QC testing delivery goals.
• Maintain Microbiology Lab audit readiness.
