This role involves working within a cutting-edge genomics workflow to provide quality control support in a high-volume molecular laboratory. The technologist will create and implement equipment functionality and reagent processes for use by Tempus R&D, clinical, and modeling lab staff while maintaining CLIA/CAP/NYS-DOH/ISO compliance. Responsibilities include completing, scheduling, and tracking Performance Qualifications (PQs), Preventive Maintenance (PM), relocation, and routine maintenance for all laboratory equipment. The role also involves organizing and preparing reagents, executing and recording quality control evaluations for new reagent lots, and collecting and analyzing QC data. The technologist will investigate issues, facilitate corrective and preventative actions, and liaise with lab management for training and troubleshooting. Reporting significant findings and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and equipment records are also key duties. The role requires navigating filing and database systems, participating in lab audits, monitoring temperature excursions, and maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment.
