About The Position

Paradigm is seeking a Quality Control Technician to support our clients electronics manufacturing operations. This is a mid-level inspection position for someone with prior experience in electronics, printed circuit boards, or manufacturing quality. The ideal candidate can inspect SMT and through-hole assemblies, interpret technical documentation, operate automated inspection equipment, and identify defects in accordance with IPC-A-610 standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; related college coursework is preferred.
  • Previous quality inspection experience in electronics, printed circuit boards, manufacturing, or computer components.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Experience in inspecting SMT and through-hole assemblies.
  • Experience operating or programming AOI equipment.
  • Experience operating or programming x-ray inspection equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, assembly drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions.
  • Experience using calipers, volt-ohm meters, pin gauges, or similar inspection tools.
  • Ability to identify electronic components and component part numbers.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify very small defects.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn quality-related software.
  • Ability to comply with ITAR requirements.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds and accurately distinguish between colors.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect SMT and through-hole electronic assemblies to IPC-A-610 Class 2 and Class 3 standards.
  • Review assembly drawings, bills of materials, work instructions, and production documentation before beginning inspections.
  • Operate and program Automatic Optical Inspection equipment.
  • Operate and program X-ray inspection equipment.
  • Perform internal and external first-article inspections.
  • Use calipers, volt-ohm meters, pin gauges, and other measuring tools.
  • Verify that assemblies, components, workmanship, and documentation meet customer requirements.
  • Record inspection findings and quality data in the company database.
  • Identify and promptly communicate quality problems or documentation discrepancies.
  • Follow ESD, chemical, MSDS, safety, and equipment certification requirements.
