About The Position

The QC Technician performs assigned tasks to assure adherence to food safety, quality, procedures and customer specifications. Controls and dispositions nonconforming materials. Audits, conducts inspections, reports non-conformances, and assists in root cause analyses. This is an hourly position with a complete benefit package. This position is designed and intended to be performed in New Sharon, IA.

Requirements

  • Work experience with a focus on Process and Packaging
  • 1 year of experience in the Food or Food Packaging industries, or experience with a firm that supports blending and packaging operations

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate raw materials, batches, and finished goods against specifications and COA results.
  • Maintain accurate test records and generate COAs upon request.
  • Conduct internal and customer sanitation audits; ensure food handling compliance.
  • Initiate and update setup sheets; calibrate and verify lab equipment.
  • Coordinate external sample testing and daily equipment checks (scales, metal detectors).
  • Monitor production lines for quality procedures and specification adherence.
  • Audit GMP compliance and support food and employee safety initiatives.
  • Inspect sanitation of blending and production equipment safely.
  • Assist Operations and Administrative teams as needed.
  • Support Kosher and Halal certification maintenance.
  • Review ingredient and product age; manage obsolete materials.
  • Participate in recall and mock recall processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in Quality and Operations.
  • Accurately enter production data into the reporting system.
