About The Position

The Quality Control Technician works onsite at PPG’s Springdale, Pennsylvania plant on the third shift. The role tests raw materials and finished-goods samples submitted to the QC Lab and reports property-test results to production and customers. Testing must be accurate and completed within the required timeframe. The technician also communicates adjustments and results to other departments, performs specified analytical and spray-out work, checks equipment calibration, and maintains a clean, organized, and safe workspace.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Two years of Quality Control experience.
Basic knowledge of mathematics and scientific principles.
Accurate and timely completion of property testing.

Nice To Haves

Quality Control experience in a chemical or coatings manufacturing environment.
College chemistry and mathematics.

Responsibilities

Test samples for properties such as viscosity, pH, and density, and determine adjustments.
Communicate adjustments and test results to other departments.
Reduce batch samples for spray-outs.
Hand-spray panels for defect analysis.
Conduct low-level analytical testing of intermediates.
Check the calibration of equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Follow all procedures and safety protocols.
