Quality Control Technician, 3rd Shift

About The Position
The Quality Control Technician receives samples from production and performs testing based on customer specifications. The technician documents test data and approves or rejects products according to the results. This is an onsite role at PPG’s Liquid Production Plant in Brazil, Indiana, reporting to a Quality Supervisor. The stated schedule is Sunday night through Friday morning, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience.
- Data-entry, basic math, reading, and basic computer skills, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to sit, stand, bend, twist, and kneel.
Nice To Haves
- Chemistry coursework is helpful.
- Experience with Oracle is a plus.
- Experience with ISO 9001 is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Perform scientific tests to evaluate the quality of in-process materials and finished goods.
- Compile, interpret, and document test data to confirm compliance with established quality standards.
- Maintain basic laboratory housekeeping.
- May establish specifications and write standard operating procedures.
- Approve or reject products based on testing results.
