About The Position

While working under limited direction, the Quality Control Technician is primarily responsible for Inbound Rx clarification, impression/model grading and may be involved in outgoing quality assurance and quality control of fabrication standards. Additionally, the QC Tech is responsible for upholding the company's quality standards and will ensure the overall quality of dental prosthetics. The role involves accurately logging and recording case information and content into a database, maintaining average daily standards for production and quality, and utilizing expertise in dental aesthetics to solve complex issues between case design and customer preferences. The technician will adhere to company standards for case evaluation and impression scoring, continuously assess cases, and make determinations for appropriate resolution. This includes reviewing prescription details for completeness and legibility, ensuring a clear picture is accurately attached to the case record, and interfacing with the team and management regarding process improvement and quality standards. The role also involves escalating observed case issues, such as discrepancies between doctor preferences from the database and the Rx, non-conformance to Rx format, and other issues that may impact case quality, to help improve the incoming QC process and workflow issues. For training purposes, the technician may also fabricate or repair entire dental appliances, alter dental appliances, or test appliances for conformity to specifications and accuracy of occlusion.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years Dental Lab Technical experience
  • Advanced application of complex case fabrication and problem solving
  • Experience with all stages of work required to build appliance from impression to finish
  • Ability to recognize the various stages utilized in the production of a Removable prosthetic device

  • CDT is preferred but not required
