About The Position

Brayman Construction Corporation is seeking a Quality Control Technician for a Full-Time position at our Bluestone Dam Project in Hinton, WV. The position involves a full-time schedule of Monday through Friday, 40-50 hours per week, with potential variations based on project needs. The Quality Control Technician will perform quality control testing on projects, work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Project Engineers to plan and document work, and represent Brayman with owner's inspectors.

Requirements

Experience in the construction industry (heavy civil, foundation, or steel erection contractor preferred)
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills are essential
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
Ability to work independently and recognize opportunities for improvement
Willingness to accept responsibility and adapt to change
Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors

Nice To Haves

Experience as a quality control technician is preferred, but not required
Willingness to attain ACI certifications including Aggregate, Concrete Field and Lab, and Strength Testing Technician

Responsibilities

Perform chemical and physical tests according to ASTM standards
Collect all material samples necessary to ensure quality control
Test concrete cylinders and cubes
Audit lab equipment regularly to troubleshoot and perform maintenance tasks, in addition to providing recommendations for improvement
Keeping Detailed notes of placement activities
Strength testing of samples in a controlled laboratory
Communicate with project owner(s) and represent Brayman with the owner's inspectors.
Assist Project QC staff and project supervision
