About The Position

Challenger Lifts, Inc., a division of Snap-on is seeking a candidate to provide manufacturing support through various manufacturing disciplines to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with proper processes, methods and routings. Assist with day-to-day production problem solving and communicating needs, problems, and results. Develop and maintain quality control & manufacturing documentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of inspection and/or production experience
  • Ability to interact with peers and subordinates.
  • High level of mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have experience in the use and calibration of standard QC inspection tools, test equipment and instruments.
  • Working knowledge of: Blueprints, Manufacturing processes, Production equipment capability, Tooling & Fixture design.
  • Must have excellent communication skills including written (email correspondence, report writing, etc.).
  • Must have strong knowledge of mathematical principles and concepts including fractions, conversions, etc.
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering 2D & 3D engineering drawings using autocad style software and be able to extract necessary data from the drawings to perform QC tasks.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite products including Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work extended hours.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must align with the Snap-on mission statement.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which includes; Hi-Vis Vest, Steel Toe Shoes, Safety Glasses or Prescription Safety Glasses (If Applicable), Gloves (If Applicable), and Ear Plugs (If Applicable).
  • Must adhere to safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality audits and inspections across all manufacturing processes, and stages of production.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, and dial indicators.
  • Improve processes and/or routings where needed for improvements in safety, quality, delivery and productivity/cost.
  • Perform root cause investigation and implement steps for resolution of production related engineering and manufacturing problems.
  • Evaluate data noting any relevant deviations from existing standards.
  • Perform incoming material receiving inspection.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of a manufacturing quality system.
  • Investigate and report non-conformances.
  • Other duties as assigned.
