Lone Star Paving is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join their Quality Control Team. This role ensures products comply with contract specifications and quality control tolerances. The ideal candidate is proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Word, with a strong understanding of Asphalt Paving & Construction. Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in Asphalt Paving & Construction required.
  • Must be organized with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Must be positive, friendly and professional.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.
  • Excel, Outlook, Word, and other computer operating systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively with a focus on timeliness and responsiveness.
  • Ability to deal with the public in a pleasant, courteous, and calm manner in all circumstances.
  • Ability to work under pressure and be multi-task oriented.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and their impact on project activities.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) essential.
  • Ability to organize the data received and streamline the process of proposed job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, sample, and test aggregates, asphalt, or other materials for the purpose of quality control.
  • Sample and test mixtures to stay in compliance with contract specifications and quality control tolerance.
  • Monitor and test process functions and materials daily to ensure products meet or exceed requirements.
  • Prepare and record accurate information and maintain a test results database.
  • Follow quality control plans and guidelines as assigned.
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Perform general cleaning of work areas daily.
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety policy, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
  • Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
  • Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
  • Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required.
