About The Position

The QC Technician is responsible for inspecting fabricated, machined, and welded components throughout the manufacturing process to ensure they meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality standards. This role performs dimensional and visual inspections, documents inspection results, identifies nonconforming materials, and supports corrective actions while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of quality control/inspection experience in a heavy manufacturing, oilfield, or industrial fabrication environment
  • Familiarity with ASME and/or AWS codes and standards relevant to oilfield equipment
  • Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, quality/ERP software)
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status

Nice To Haves

  • technical degree or certification in Quality, Manufacturing, or Welding Inspection preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections on fabricated and machined components (welded assemblies, and large structural equipment)
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, and other precision measuring instruments
  • Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Verify weld quality against AWS/ASME codes and customer specifications
  • Document inspection results and nonconformance
  • Identify and tag nonconforming material; initiate corrective action requests and support root cause analysis
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized inspection area in compliance with plant safety policies
