About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Quality Control Technician - Sterile Processing for an exciting Travel or Local job in Long Beach, CA. This role involves performing quality inspections of surgical instruments, trays, and sterile processing workflows, ensuring adherence to standards and proper decontamination, cleaning, assembly, and packaging procedures. The technician will operate various sterile processing equipment, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with infection prevention and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing experience required
  • CRCST or equivalent Sterile Processing Certification required
  • CIS or equivalent Sterile Processing Certification required
  • Strong experience with instrument decontamination, assembly, inspection, and sterilization procedures
  • Strong understanding of infection prevention and sterilization best practices
  • Familiarity with ANSI/AAMI standards and manufacturer IFUs
  • Experience operating washer disinfectors, sterilizers, autoclaves, and related equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance
  • Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic tracking systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience in a sterile processing environment preferred
  • Experience supporting process improvement and compliance initiatives preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections of surgical instruments, trays, and sterile processing workflows
  • Follow ANSI/AAMI standards, manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs), SOPs, and company work instructions
  • Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, and package surgical instruments and equipment
  • Verify instrument cleanliness, functionality, and integrity prior to sterilization and distribution
  • Identify, document, and report missing, damaged, or non-compliant instruments
  • Operate washers, sterilizers, autoclaves, and related sterile processing equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, inventory, and quality metrics
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with supply management activities
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of processing equipment and workstations
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, and quality assurance requirements
  • Collaborate with operations and processing teams to support workflow efficiency
  • Participate in training programs, competency assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
