Under the supervision of the Quality Director, the Quality Control Technician II serves as a key contributor to Jensen Metal Products’ commitment to quality excellence. This role is responsible for verifying product conformity, driving continuous improvement initiatives, supporting new product launches, and collaborating across departments to reduce risk, improve processes, and exceed customer expectations.

Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Proficient in the use of measurement equipment i.e. calipers, micrometers, and height stands
  • Well-versed in reading and interpreting weld symbols and GD&T
  • Knowledge of welding, painting, and fabrication methods
  • Strong math skills, including geometry and basic algebra
  • Analytical mindset for troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a contract manufacturing environment, specifically within sheet metal fabrication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Ideal experience includes working with CMM’s and Keyence systems
  • Experience with quality management software and electronic inspection records preferred

Responsibilities

  • Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, and engineering specifications to determine production standards and tolerance limits
  • Perform and analyze inspections on first piece, in-process, purchased, and finished products to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Test finished products for paint quality and thickness, weld quality, dimensions, fit, blast profile, and visual appearance
  • Create and gather documentation for PPAP reports
  • Complete required documentation, including inspection reports, damage reports, return reports, and rework orders
  • Ensure finished products are properly packaged and loaded to prevent damage during transportation
  • Communicate deviations to plant supervision and assist in root cause analysis
  • Serve as a change agent to support continuous improvement and preventative action initiatives
  • Engage in ISO processes and compliance activities
  • Coach and train employees on quality standards, tools, and procedures
  • Follow all housekeeping and safety guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
