About The Position

Siplast in Arkadelphia Arkansas is looking for a Quality Control Technician who will support the Modified Bitumen Production Plant by performing various quality laboratory testing of raw materials, blended asphalts, and finished products for Siplast and GAF Roofing Systems. The technician will be responsible for recording and reporting results, completing daily product audits, participating in plant trials, calibrating testing devices, assisting during inspections, laboratory maintenance, and laboratory cleanup. Must be flexible, available to work overtime on short notice, and possess ability to communicate both written and verbally. This position primarily covers the 3rd shift (9pm - 5am) and requires on time attendance to relieve the adjacent technician in the support and performance of a 24hr operation. Schedules can change and as much notice as possible will be provided.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) coupled with a minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated intermediate communication skills with Google Workspace Suite of Applications
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in accordance with Test Methods, SOP’s, and JSA’s within 3 months of appointment date
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without need for employer-sponsored visa (work permit).

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree
  • Experience with WinSPC
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience, in a fast paced continuous process

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated ability to operate safely

  • Independently perform laboratory testing in a timely manner
  • Ability to read and follow directions according to test methods
  • Ability to research specifications and interpret limitations
  • Follow the production schedule for product testing
  • Accurately records results in WinSPC
  • Reviews data to ensure product conformance
  • Effective communication and troubleshooting skills
  • Provide guidance to the production team
  • Identification of product non-conformance
  • Generate reports and update SQDCE Board
  • Conduct Daily Product Audits of the manufacturing processes
  • Conduct Aged Warehouse Audits of finished products
  • Inventory and ordering routine lab supplies
  • Maintain calibrations and documentation for testing devices
  • Operate forklift as needed
