About The Position
Albina Asphalt is seeking a seasonal Quality Control Technician in Vancouver, WA. This role involves developing expertise in asphalt sample collection, preparation, testing, and reporting. The technician will be responsible for identifying and reporting out-of-specification results, adhering to the Albina Asphalt Quality Control Manual, and preparing samples for shipping. Additionally, the role includes performing routine maintenance and calibration of lab equipment, maintaining laboratory cleanliness, preparing reports for management and agencies, and assisting in product target value maintenance to minimize costs while ensuring compliance. Safety is paramount, and the technician must actively prevent unsafe actions and processes. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- GED or high school diploma or equivalent.
- Willingness to acquire and maintain proper certifications and licensure with company assistance.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background check.
Responsibilities
- Develop expertise in asphalt sample collection and preparation.
- Perform asphalt testing and record test results.
- Immediately bring out of specification or questionable test results to the attention of your supervisor.
- Be familiar with test methods, material specifications, and schedule of tests as outlined in the Albina Asphalt Quality Control Manual.
- Prepare samples for shipping.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of lab equipment according to established procedures and file appropriate documentation.
- Perform general housekeeping duties as required to maintain a first-class industry laboratory.
- Prepare reports as directed for distribution to upper management and/or specifying agencies.
- Assist with maintaining products at their established production target values to minimize product cost while maintaining compliance to the product specifications.
- Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
