About The Position

Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM), a global leader in the building materials industry since 1917, is seeking a Quality Supervisor for its Franklin Park, IL facility. This role involves supervising and overseeing the inspection and testing of finished goods and raw materials, identifying product quality issues, and making corrective recommendations to the quality and manufacturing teams. The position also includes investigating long-term quality issue trends through data analysis, performing mock audits, addressing quality audit findings, managing deviations, and setting/monitoring lab technician workload. A working knowledge of manufacturing/processing specifications, product specifications, and product testing equipment and calibration is essential.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards (ISO 9001, ASTM, etc.).
  • Proficient in quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA.
  • Familiarity with ERP and QMS systems; ability to analyze data and generate reports.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Advance computer skills (excel, word, PowerPoint, SFIS, etc.).
  • Forklift operations.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality role.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience is strongly preferred.

  • Experience in building materials is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily quality operations, including inspection, testing, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations (e.g., ASTM, ISO).
  • Lead quality control audits and support external inspections or certifications.
  • Train and develop quality technicians in inspection techniques and procedures.
  • Monitor process performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain quality documentation, records, and reports; ensure traceability and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and R&D teams to resolve quality issues and support new product development.
  • Assist in managing quality-related KPIs and reporting to upper management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
