About The Position

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for managing process and product inspection, conducting audits, analyzing quality data, and leading the handling of internal quality issues. This role also involves supervising Outgoing Quality Control inspectors, conducting risk analysis, and assisting with customer complaints and external audits.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers
  • 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Experienced in production line and QC of the company over one year
  • Associate's degree or above (Mechanical and Electrical Engineering major is preferred)
  • Regularly required to stand for long periods
  • Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip)
  • Visual acuity including: NEAR ACUITY, FAR ACUITY, DEPTH PERCEPTION, COLOR VISION, FIELD OF VISION
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of and familiarity with manufacturing software
  • Familiar with manufacturing principle and technological process of glass
  • Familiar with systematical knowledge of IATF 16949 quality management system
  • Familiar with supplier quality management
  • Familiar with requirements of quality management system
  • Proficient in using Office software such as Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Proficient in document writing
  • Skilled in reporting, analyzing and handling problems
  • Capable of on-the-spot process audit
  • Capable of analyzing with QC7 and corresponding charts
  • Capable of SPC analysis and improvement
  • Analyze and handle problems with statistics and analysis tools
  • Capable of reporting
  • Skilled in process audit
  • Skilled in MSA (measurement system analysis)
  • Familiar with all experimental items and process on the production site
  • Familiar with three operation instructions and corresponding judging standards on the spot
  • Timely response to find quality hazard(s) and respond in time to prevent quality problem escalation

Responsibilities

  • Process and product inspection management
  • Direct and conduct Process and Product audit
  • Organize, summarize, and analyze quality data to monitor the process and improve quality
  • Lead, organize, and implement analysis, handling, follow-up, and improvement of internal quality issues
  • Supervise the Outgoing Quality Control inspectors
  • Conduct risk analysis and decision making
  • Assist in handling customer complaints
  • Assist second and third party audits
  • Prepare inspection standards and test specifications
  • Establish and maintain production reserved samples, defect samples, and limit samples
  • Supervise inspection of semi-finished and finished products and process quality
  • Prepare and implement MSA plans
  • Train operators and inspectors on handling non-conforming products and product repair/rework specifications
  • Collect data and summarize reports for quality department reviews
  • Prepare product and process audit specifications and plans
  • Track and feedback implementation and removal of non-conforming items from audits
  • Participate in product inspections and reviews during new product development and quality gate reviews
  • Participate in company-organized audits
  • Organize regular review of company fixture and mold test tools
  • Manage process change points
  • Timely respond to and handle quality problems during production
  • Report material quality abnormality
  • Handle customer complaints and returns of goods
  • Track effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions
  • Establish and implement process statistics and analysis
  • Continuously improve process and product quality
  • Regularly analyze process quality and prepare analysis reports
  • Direct supervision of Quality Control Supervisors within the workshop
  • Train and verify operator and online inspector quality inspection skills
  • Compile, archive, and transfer materials related to new product development process
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly/annual quality reports, and process and product audit reports
