About The Position

The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all outbound shipments through a secondary verification process prior to trucks exiting the facility. This role serves as a critical quality control checkpoint, confirming that all materials, quantities, and documentation match order requirements. The position requires exceptional attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to support additional operational functions as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of shipping processes, documentation, and inventory systems.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills for order and quantity verification.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and inspecting loads.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, and climbing to verify loads.
  • Work performed in an outdoor environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and moving equipment.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in shipping or quality control preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a final audit of all outbound truck loads prior to departure to ensure accuracy of items, quantities, and customer orders.
  • Cross-check physical product against shipping documentation, pick tickets, and system records.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in coordination with yard team before release.
  • Serve as the secondary control point to prevent shipping errors and maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Verify product condition to ensure it meets quality standards prior to shipment.
  • Document and report errors or trends to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings during truck inspections to prevent workplace incidents.
  • Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Provide coverage for designated roles during breaks or absences, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Accurately complete verification logs, checklists, and related documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with operations and leadership teams regarding load status or discrepancies.
  • Perform duties with a high level of urgency while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support timely truck departures without compromising verification standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
