About The Position

Agri-Cover, Inc., an aftermarket automotive manufacturer, is looking for a full-time Quality Control Specialist in our Jamestown, ND location. This role assists with a QC program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. The specialist will be responsible for testing and inspecting products, identifying non-conformance, maintaining records, and supporting investigations to promote continuous improvement. The position also involves inspecting production procedures for efficiency and compliance with safety standards, overseeing quality assurance aspects, and communicating changes to standards and processes. Additionally, the role includes training new hires, investigating quality concerns, and working collaboratively to solve defects and implement improvements. The ability to read prints, understand tolerances, and use basic measuring tools is essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Accounting software; Contact Management systems; Internet software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Programs such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to read prints and understand tolerances.
  • Must be able to use basic measuring tools and measure part to print.
  • Ability to follow step by step directions without oversight (within reason).

Nice To Haves

  • Team lifting or finding a mechanical advantage when possible is preferred when lifting over 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Testing and inspection of product to be used for production, this may include reading product for production.
  • Inspection of incoming and outgoing product, in finished and raw states, using industry and company standards to verify product meets all applicable standards.
  • Identifies and reports non-conformance to known standards using various measuring and testing methods to the QC Lead.
  • Inspect outgoing product for BOM accuracy.
  • Maintain records of testing, information, and various metrics.
  • Work with QC team to complete monthly reports.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the Quality Lead.
  • Compiles and records documentation of companies Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR's).
  • Support internal investigations (internal corrective action request) to promote continuous improvement.
  • Yearly certification of calipers, tape measures and other measurement devices.
  • Files and tracks all documentation of the certification.
  • Maintain current status documentation on all warranty part returns.
  • Receive, check in, and ship warranty returned parts in conjunction with open warranty claims.
  • Inspect procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards.
  • Oversees all aspects of quality assurance related to the department including industry best practices and developing new tools and processes to ensure department quality goals are met.
  • Includes communicating changes to standards and quality related processes.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with suppliers, customers, team members, and department heads.
  • Peer to Peer training on Quality related processes with new hires within 30 days of start date.
  • Work with the team to investigate quality concerns and see investigation through to resolution.
  • Work collectively to solve defects.
  • Works with team to implement improvements.
  • Ability to read prints and understand tolerances.
  • Must be able to use basic measuring tools and measure part to print.
  • Ability to follow step by step directions without oversight (within reason).
