About The Position

The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for supporting the daily administration and coordination of the Quality Management System (QMS). This role ensures quality documentation is maintained, inspection records are accurate, corrective actions are tracked, audits are coordinated, and quality metrics are reported in a timely manner. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Receiving, the Quality Control Specialist helps maintain compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards while driving continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment.
  • Experience with quality documentation and quality management systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection documentation.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience supporting audits and corrective action processes preferred.
  • Experience in precision machining or metal manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and electronic document management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain quality records, inspection reports, certifications, and documentation in accordance with company retention requirements.
  • Coordinate and monitor Corrective Action Requests (CARs), Nonconformance Reports (NCRs), customer complaints, and supplier quality issues through closure.
  • Review incoming inspection documentation and verifying required records are complete and accurate.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining quality procedures, work instructions, forms, and controlled documents.
  • Support internal, customer, and third-party audits by organizing documentation, gathering evidence, and tracking audit findings.
  • Maintain calibration records and coordinate calibration schedules for inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Compile, analyze, and distribute quality metrics including scrap, rework, first-pass yield, customer complaints, supplier performance, and other KPI reporting.
  • Assist with root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Coordinate Material Review Board (MRB) documentation and disposition records.
  • Track Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and ensure quality documentation is updated accordingly.
  • Work with Receiving, Manufacturing, and Engineering to resolve quality concerns in a timely manner.
  • Support supplier quality activities by maintaining supplier documentation, certifications, and performance records.
  • Assist with employee quality training documentation and maintain training records related to quality processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving process capability, and increasing customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO requirements, customer specifications, and company quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
